RTE-Ontology-DT

Support for the creation of ontologies and monitoring of platforms for digital twins

Description

This project aims at developing ontologies and knowledge graphs for the electricity sector. It also investigates the potential of the digital twin in that domain, and how to empower digital twins with semantic AI capabilities.

The project's work programme includes a critical analysis of what already exists to identify the technological building blocks required for the platform and an investigation into the contribution of ontologies to ensure, as automatically as possible, the consistency and interoperability of representations of the same object in different standards. In addition, RTE participates in standardization groups focusing on the digital twin and ontologies.  The knowledge engineering team at the University of Geneva's Centre Universitaire d'Informatique was in charge of:

  • Monitoring the state of the art and standardization work on the digital twin

  • Building an ontology and analysing its potential for the Dynamic Transformer Rating use case

  • Providing a knowledge graph-based approach as a first step towards a digital twin.

Papers / Output

  • Cartographie des standards: APPLICATION AU CAS DU TRANSFORMATEUR DE PUISSANCE
